The Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington was absolutely electric on Monday night as WWE Raw delivered a show packed with high-stakes action, shocking returns, and major implications for WrestleMania 42.

From a grueling six-woman gauntlet match that determined the next challenger for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship to a brutal faction war inside Judgment Day, the road to the biggest show of the year just got a whole lot more interesting.

Let’s break down everything that happened and what it all means for the weeks ahead.

Quick Match Results

Before we dive deep, here are the full results from the March 9 episode of WWE Raw:

  • Women’s Intercontinental Championship Number One Contenders Gauntlet Match: Bayley defeated Lyra Valkyria, IYO SKY, Raquel Rodriguez, Ivy Nile, and Asuka to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 42
  • Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) defeated El Grande Americano to retain his title
  • Singles Match: Oba Femi defeated Rusev in his Raw debut
  • Major Developments: Seth Rollins and his masked army confronted Adam Pearce, Logan Paul returned with Austin Theory, LA Knight and The Usos made the save, and Judgment Day officially split with Finn Balor brutally attacked by Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh

Adam Pearce Confronts Seth Rollins – And Chaos Erupts

The show opened with General Manager Adam Pearce standing in the ring, looking visibly uncomfortable. He had “unfortunate business” to address, and that business was Seth Rollins.

Pearce acknowledged that Rollins was somewhere in the building because The Vision was present, but he wasn’t prepared for what happened next.

Suddenly, masked men began appearing throughout the arena. One stood on the announce desk. Others surrounded the ring. The crowd buzzed with confusion and excitement.

Then one of the masked men removed his disguise.

Seth Rollins stood face to face with Pearce, and the message was clear. Rollins is playing a different game now.

Pearce didn’t mince words. He told Rollins that he’s known him for a long time and doesn’t approve of The Vision’s methods, but as General Manager, he had to address what’s happening. He reminded Rollins that he had surgery less than five months ago and is still not medically cleared to compete.

“There’s going to come a time where you won’t escape The Vision,” Pearce warned. “And if they get their hands on you, it could be the end of Seth Rollins.”

Before Rollins could respond, Logan Paul’s music hit.

Logan Paul Returns with Austin Theory

The social media megastar made his way to the ring alongside Austin Theory, immediately shifting the power dynamics. Theory told Rollins that his masks couldn’t protect him and that this was the “worst case scenario” Pearce had warned about.

Paul and Theory moved to attack, but Rollins’ masked army sprang into action. The confusion of multiple masked men made it impossible for Paul and Theory to identify the real Rollins.

Then LA Knight’s music hit.

The megastar charged to the ring, leveling the playing field. But Paul and Theory still had numbers on their side until Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso made their way out.

The numbers game flipped completely. Paul and Theory had no choice but to retreat.

This segment accomplished so much in a short time. It advanced the Rollins-Vision storyline, brought back Logan Paul in a significant way, and created an uneasy alliance between LA Knight and The Usos that will surely have ramifications down the line.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship Number One Contenders Gauntlet Match

This was the match everyone was waiting for. Six of the most talented women in WWE stepped into the ring, but only one would earn the right to face AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42.

The Format

For those unfamiliar with gauntlet matches, two competitors start, and a new woman enters at regular intervals. The only way to be eliminated is by pinfall, submission, or countout. The last woman standing wins.

IYO SKY vs. Lyra Valkyria (Opening Segment)

IYO SKY and Lyra Valkyria kicked things off, and they immediately set a blistering pace. SKY’s high-flying offense clashed beautifully with Valkyria’s technical precision.

SKY landed a missile dropkick that would have finished most opponents, but Valkyria kept fighting. She targeted SKY’s leg, trying to ground the airborne superstar.

The back-and-forth continued until SKY caught Valkyria with a flap jack and followed up with Bullet Train. Valkyria kicked out, showing tremendous resilience.

The finish came when SKY ascended to the middle rope, Valkyria tripped her up, and both women teetered on the top rope. Valkyria connected with an enzuigiri and a DDT, then locked in a Fisherman’s suplex. SKY kicked out and immediately hit Over The Moonsault to eliminate Valkyria.

Eliminated: Lyra Valkyria

Raquel Rodriguez Enters

The second entrant was Raquel Rodriguez, and she brought pure power to contrast SKY’s speed. Rodriguez caught SKY attempting a suicide dive and looked poised to dominate.

But SKY escaped and leveled Rodriguez with a clothesline. The power dynamic shifted constantly as both women showcased their strengths.

Rodríguez sent SKY face-first into the announce desk during a commercial break, a brutal spot that had the Seattle crowd wincing. She followed up with a suplex and looked close to victory.

SKY refused to stay down. She caught Rodriguez with a hurricanrana off the top rope, then delivered a missile dropkick and Bullet Train.

Just as SKY set up for Over The Moonsault, Liv Morgan appeared at ringside.

Liv Morgan’s Distraction Backfires

Morgan’s presence distracted SKY long enough for Rodriguez to trip her up. But before Morgan could do more damage, Stephanie Vaquer ran out and attacked her.

The two brawled up the ramp and to the back, evening the odds temporarily. SKY capitalized by landing a crossbody on Rodriguez and rolling her up for the elimination.

Eliminated: Raquel Rodriguez

A frustrated Rodriguez didn’t go quietly. She sent SKY crashing into the ring post face-first and delivered a Texana Bomb on the apron before finally leaving.

Ivy Nile Capitalizes

With SKY weakened on the outside, Ivy Nile entered the match and immediately took advantage. She pinned the exhausted SKY, eliminating the fan favorite who had lasted through multiple entrants.

Eliminated: IYO SKY

Nile showed no mercy, continuing her aggressive approach as Bayley entered next.

Bayley vs. Ivy Nile

Bayley brought experience and cunning to match Nile’s intensity. The two exchanged heavy strikes, with Nile using her strength to control large portions of the match.

A delayed vertical suplex from Nile looked devastating, but Bayley kicked out. The turning point came when Bayley caught Nile hanging off the apron and delivered an elbow drop off the ring steps.

One Bayley-to-Belly later, Nile was eliminated.

Eliminated: Ivy Nile

Asuka Enters with Kairi Sane

The final entrant was Asuka, and she brought Kairi Sane to ringside. The Empress of Tomorrow immediately made her presence felt, leveling Bayley with a roundhouse kick.

Sane got involved during a commercial break, firing off right hands on Bayley while Asuka distracted the referee. But Bayley fought back, firing shoulders and raining down strikes in the corner.

Asuka locked in an Ankle Lock, but Bayley escaped. She transitioned to a pinfall attempt, but Bayley kicked out and landed a kick on the outside.

Back in the ring, Asuka rocked Bayley with a knee to the head. Bayley kicked out and delivered a Bayley-to-Belly, but Asuka kicked out again.

Sane tried to intervene on the outside, scooping up Bayley. But Lyra Valkyria returned the favor from earlier, delivering a shotgun dropkick to Sane.

The Finish

Bayley ascended the middle rope, looking for an elbow drop, but Asuka caught her in the Asuka Lock. The crowd held their breath as Bayley struggled.

Somehow, Bayley escaped and connected with Rose Plant.

One. Two. Three.

Winner and new Number One Contender: Bayley

What This Means

Bayley now heads to WrestleMania 42 to challenge AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. This sets up a fascinating dynamic between two of the most accomplished women in WWE history.

AJ Lee, fresh off dethroning Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber, now faces a familiar foe in Bayley. The two have history dating back years, and their WrestleMania encounter promises to be special.

For the other competitors, this gauntlet match showcased incredible depth in the women’s division. IYO SKY looked dominant until outside interference cost her. Raquel Rodriguez proved her power game is as dangerous as ever. Lyra Valkyria and Ivy Nile showed they belong in these conversations. And Asuka, even in defeat, reminded everyone why she’s a future Hall of Famer.

Backstage: Maxxine Dupri Attacks Nattie

During a backstage interview with Byron Saxton, Nattie was blindsided by Maxxine Dupri on the entrance ramp. The attack came out of nowhere and left Nattie down and frustrated.

This appears to be the beginning of a new program between the two women. Dupri has been looking for meaningful direction, and a feud with a veteran like Nattie could provide exactly that.

OG El Grande Americano Encounters Danhausen

In a bizarre backstage segment, OG El Grande Americano crossed paths with Danhausen. The encounter was brief but memorable, with Danhausen doing what Danhausen does best – being absolutely unpredictable.

Whether this leads to anything more remains to be seen, but in wrestling, you never know when a random backstage moment becomes the seed of something bigger.

Penta Defends Intercontinental Championship Against El Grande Americano

Penta made his way to the ring first, and he took a moment to address the Seattle crowd. He thanked Adam Pearce, his family, his co-workers, his fans around the world, and himself for reaching this moment as Intercontinental Champion.

“This championship is for all those who never gave up,” Penta declared. “For real life fighters. I plan on making history.”

Then came the confusion. El Grande Americano (not the OG version scheduled for the match) followed Penta to the ring.

The Match

The action was fast and furious from the opening bell. Penta’s lucha libre style meshed perfectly with Grande’s technical approach, creating a match that had the crowd on their feet.

During a commercial break, Grande tied Penta to the ropes using his own mask. It was a creative and ruthless tactic that allowed Grande to deliver a shotgun dropkick and gain control.

Penta fought back with a modified Bronco Buster that had the crowd howling. He followed up with a spectacular Tope Con Hilo over the top rope, taking out Grande on the outside.

Back in the ring, Penta ascended the top rope and rained down right hands. He set up for the Mexican Destroyer, but Grande countered with a Death Valley Driver.

Penta kicked out.

The finish came when Grande looked to fly off the ropes, but Penta caught him with a variation of a DDT. Without hesitation, Penta landed a springboard Canadian Destroyer.

One. Two. Three.

Winner and still Intercontinental Champion: Penta

What This Means

Penta’s first title defense is in the books, and he passed with flying colors. The champion showed resilience, creativity, and the ability to adapt when his opponent threw something unexpected at him.

The Intercontinental Championship feels elevated with Penta holding it. His connection with the audience is undeniable, and his in-ring work speaks for itself.

Who steps up next to challenge him? The answer to that question will likely become clear in the coming weeks.

Judgment Day Implodes: Finn Balor Brutally Attacked

After Penta’s victory, Dominik Mysterio made his way to the ring alongside Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. The tension was immediately palpable.

Dominik vented his frustrations about losing the Intercontinental Championship the previous week. He blamed Finn Balor for the loss and made it clear he wanted to handle things privately. But Balor, he claimed, had made things public.

Then Finn Balor and JD McDonagh appeared.

Balor Admits the Truth

Balor did something unexpected. He admitted that he cost Dominik the Intercontinental Championship.

“I was trying to help,” Balor insisted. “Judgment Day will always have one another’s back as a family.”

But then Balor crossed a line.

He said that Rey Mysterio might have been right about Dominik and his entitled ways.

Dominik snapped.

The Attack

Dominik clocked Balor. Balor responded with an up kick. McDonagh tried to reason with Balor in the corner while Morgan and Rodriguez held Dominik back.

Dominik broke free and attacked Balor again. McDonagh clotheslined Balor.

Then came the moment that signaled the end of an era.

Morgan, Rodriguez, McDonagh, and Dominik surrounded Balor and rained down stomps. Dominik grabbed a chair and the ring bell hammer from the timekeeper’s area.

He hit Balor with the ring bell hammer.

The crowd gasped.

McDonagh held Balor in place as Dominik dialed it up for a 619. Then Dominik ascended the top rope and connected with a Frog Splash.

McDonagh placed a chair over Balor’s chest. Dominik climbed again and delivered a second Frog Splash.

Balor lay motionless as the segment ended.

What This Means

Judgment Day is officially fractured. The group that dominated Raw for months has reached its breaking point.

Dominik Mysterio’s transformation into a cold-blooded leader is complete. He showed no mercy to the man who helped build Judgment Day alongside him.

For Finn Balor, this represents the ultimate betrayal. He admitted fault, tried to make amends, and was repaid with a brutal assault.

Where does JD McDonagh stand? He chose Dominik’s side tonight, but alliances in wrestling shift quickly.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez watched the attack unfold and did nothing to stop it. They may have silently endorsed Dominik’s actions.

This story is far from over. When Balor returns, and he will return, the vengeance will be legendary.

Backstage: Kofi Kingston Approaches Je’Von Evans

In a quieter but potentially significant backstage moment, Kofi Kingston approached rising star Je’Von Evans.

Kingston told Evans that he sees himself in the young competitor. He believes in Evans’ potential but emphasized that no one succeeds alone.

“You need a team around you,” Kingston advised. He encouraged Evans to consider joining himself, Xavier Woods, and Grayson Waller.

In the background of this segment, Asuka could be seen berating Kairi Sane following her gauntlet match loss. The Kabuki Warriors appear to be experiencing tension after Asuka’s failure to win the number one contender spot.

What This Means

Kingston recruiting Evans could signal an evolution for The New Day or the formation of something entirely new. Evans has shown flashes of brilliance, and guidance from a future Hall of Famer like Kingston could accelerate his development.

As for Asuka and Sane, the body language spoke volumes. Asuka was visibly frustrated, and Sane bore the brunt of that frustration. Will The Kabuki Warriors survive this setback?

Oba Femi Defeats Rusev in Raw Debut

Oba Femi has been dominant on SmackDown, racking up quick wins against Kit Wilson, The Miz, and Johnny Gargano. But Monday night marked his Raw debut, and he faced his toughest test yet in Rusev.

The Match

The bell rang and both men immediately went to war. They exchanged clotheslines, but neither man budged. Right hands followed, and still neither fell.

Femi eventually clotheslined Rusev out of the ring, but Rusev answered by attacking Femi’s throat and sending him crashing into the ring post. Rusev then drove Femi onto the announce desk.

Back in the ring, Rusev continued his assault with vicious kicks. But Femi absorbed the punishment and exploded back.

He caught Rusev and sent him crashing into the mat spine first.

Then came Fall From Grace.

Femi connected and covered.

One. Two. Three.

Winner: Oba Femi

What This Means

Oba Femi passed his Raw test with flying colors. Rusev is a veteran who has faced everyone, and Femi handled him decisively.

The message is clear. Femi belongs on any show, against any opponent. His combination of size, power, and athleticism makes him a nightmare matchup for anyone.

What’s next for Femi? A potential Intercontinental Championship program with Penta would be absolutely must-see.

For Rusev, the loss stings, but he showed he can still hang with anyone. A rebound program could get him back on track quickly.

CM Punk and The Usos: Respect or Confrontation?

CM Punk made his way to the ring for the final segment of the night, and the Seattle crowd greeted him with the mix of cheers and jeers that follows him everywhere.

Punk said it was great to be alive on a Monday night in Seattle. He addressed the backlash to his verbal confrontation with Roman Reigns the previous week.

“Championships are made to find out who the best is in sports,” Punk explained. “The best defend their title. Reigns refused to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship.”

Punk declared that he levels up the competition.

The Usos Interrupt

Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso made their way to the ring, and Jey immediately demanded that Punk apologize to himself and Jimmy for what he said about Reigns.

Jimmy clarified that this wasn’t about doing Reigns’ bidding. It was about respect.

“I have lots of respect for you because you speak your mind and go through obstacles,” Jimmy told Punk.

But Punk wasn’t backing down.

Punk Fires Back

Punk mentioned Reigns’ father Sika and asked Jimmy if he could hear him. When Jimmy said yes, Punk launched into a personal story.

He said he goes way back with the Anoa’i family. He knew Reigns’ uncle Afa better than Sika. Afa always gave him food and a roof over his head. He even babysat Lance Anoa’i.

“Sika would see how corrupted and selfish Reigns has become,” Punk claimed.

Jey erupted. He demanded Punk apologize.

Punk refused.

“I’m sorry that Reigns treated you and the rest of your family like garbage,” Punk said. “He’s never pointed out how he treated his family. He disrespected Dusty Rhodes.”

Punk concluded by saying that if Reigns respected him, he’d be standing in the ring right now.

The Standoff

The Usos shoved Punk. They hopped out of the ring.

The show went off the air with all three men staring each other down.

What This Means

This is how you build to a major program. Punk has positioned himself as the voice speaking uncomfortable truths about Roman Reigns. The Usos are caught between family loyalty and their own complicated history with Reigns.

The question hanging over everything: Will Reigns respond? And when he does, what side will The Usos ultimately choose?

What’s Next? Looking Ahead to WrestleMania 42

With Bayley officially named the number one contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, her match with AJ Lee at WrestleMania 42 is set. This is a dream match between two women who have accomplished everything in their careers except sharing the ring on the grandest stage.

The Intercontinental Championship picture remains open. Penta has successfully defended once, but challengers will line up quickly. Oba Femi looked dominant in his Raw debut. A program between these two powerhouses would be appointment viewing.

Judgment Day’s future is uncertain. Dominik Mysterio has established himself as the new leader, but Finn Balor will not forget this betrayal. The revenge tour starts whenever Balor is healthy enough to return.

CM Punk and Roman Reigns appear headed for collision. The question is whether The Usos will stand with their family or finally break free from Reigns’ shadow.

Logan Paul’s return adds another variable to an already crowded main event scene. With Austin Theory by his side, Paul could target anyone from Rollins to LA Knight to the World Heavyweight Championship picture.
